Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most about Boxinger, in short answers.

About Boxinger

What is Boxinger?

Boxinger is an idea board for product teams. It brings together in one place the ideas that now arrive scattered by email, chat, meetings or spreadsheets: your community suggests and votes on them, and your team decides which ones to build.

Who is Boxinger for?

For product teams and companies that want to listen to their customers, users or employees, and decide what to build with that information in plain view.

How does it work?

Ideas come in, the community votes and comments, and the team approves or rejects each one with a reason. Approved ideas move to the backlog and the roadmap. When an idea launches, Boxinger tells the people who suggested it or voted for it.

How is it different from a spreadsheet or a survey?

In a spreadsheet or a survey, answers sit in a list. In Boxinger every idea has votes, comments and a status, the team decides in the open, and whoever asked for it finds out what happened.

Is Boxinger available in Spanish?

Yes. The interface and emails come in Spanish and English, and each person picks their language.

Plans and pricing

Is Boxinger free?

Yes, there’s a Free plan forever, no credit card needed. It includes 1 team with 1 board, unlimited ideas, votes, comments, Ranking and Backlog. It’s for you alone, with no team members.

How much does Boxinger cost?

Free costs USD 0, Pro USD 9.99 per month and Team USD 19.99 per month. Enterprise has custom pricing.

What’s the difference between Pro and Team?

Pro adds unlimited teams and boards, up to 4 members per team, private boards, Matrix, Roadmap, Status, Updates and integrations. Team adds up to 20 members per team, Admins besides you and the AI assistant.

How do I pay?

Payment is monthly and renews automatically. In Argentina you can pay with Mercado Pago, in pesos. From any country, by international card, in US dollars.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, from My profile, at no cost. No further charges are made and you keep your plan until the end of the paid period. Then the account moves to Free and nothing is deleted.

Community and privacy

Who can see my board?

You choose. A public board can be seen by anyone with the link. An invite-only board, by the people you invited or approved. A private board, only by your team, and it’s available from the Pro plan.

Do people need an account to vote?

Yes. On a public board anyone with the link can see the ideas, but they need to sign in to vote or comment.

Can someone suggest an idea anonymously?

Yes. The idea shows as “Anonymous” to the community and to team members. Only the team’s Admins know who suggested it.

Is my data safe?

Each customer can only access their own data, and that isolation is enforced in the database. Everything travels encrypted over HTTPS, data is stored encrypted, and we don’t sell or rent data.

Features and integrations

Can I bring in the ideas I already have?

Yes, from the Pro plan you can import a CSV or Excel file with your ideas. They come in with their original date, ready to vote on. Votes in the file aren’t imported.

Can I take my ideas with me?

Yes, on every plan you can export all of a board’s ideas to a file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

What tools does it integrate with?

From the Pro plan, Boxinger sends notices to Slack and receives ideas from Zapier, Make, Google Forms, Google Sheets and any tool that can send a web request. Ideas that arrive this way wait for the team’s review before they’re published.

What does the AI assistant do?

It suggests which ideas to approve and why, finds the ones asking for the same thing, and suggests new ideas for your product. It’s on the Team and Enterprise plans. The AI never receives names or emails, and nothing is merged without your confirmation.

Do people find out what happens to the ideas they suggest?

Yes. When an idea enters the roadmap or launches, the people who suggested it or voted for it get an email. Launched ideas also appear in Updates, without you having to write anything.
